After visiting Greece, Spain and Italy last summer my daughter and I have found ourselves dreaming of our time there. The long summer days strolling through Bari Gotic in Barcelona, stopping to enjoy churros and chocolat at cafes tucked into cool stone walls, the heat, sounds and smells of Rome in the evening with the motorcycles rushing by and vendors displaying their roses at the Piazza Spagna. Tossing coins over our shoulders into Trevi Fountain in hopes of one day returning. In Greece we floated upon turquoise waters and explored stone villages stopping for frappes and pittas. This year we were putting a “summer bucket list” together (mostly her ideas:)) and decided a great way to re-live some of our trip would be to explore the regional foods of the places we visited. I started my path as a photographer photographing food, restaurants and home decor and often miss that work. My daughter and I love looking through cookbooks and admiring the photography while deciding which recipes we should try. So in the next few months we will be cooking delicious mediterranean inspired dishes for family and friends. It’s also about time she started learning to prepare some Greek staples as well as traditional dishes;) . Along the way I will be sharing some of our fun and which dishes were SO amazing you’ll have to make them with your family!
